Purpose of the Association

Primary purpose

1. to practise and gain a deeper knowledge of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in its higher degrees, from the 4th to the 14th degree;
2. to deepen interest in Freemasonry and foster a deeper understanding of its meaning.

The Association brings together its members to study the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, historical texts, philosophy and customs, and to support the personal development of its members.

Means of fulfilling the purpose

1. bringing together its members and coordinating and organising their activities;
2. participating in public charitable activities, including support for culture and education and for social, healthcare, environmental and charitable programmes;
3. supporting museum and exhibition activities, organising humanities studies and research in history, philosophy and related disciplines, including publishing;
4. supporting the education of its members and the public;
5. raising funds for its own activities and activities serving the public benefit.
